Ian believes in the importance of personal growth and continuous improvement, and he is always striving to become the best version of himself. He is not content with maintaining the status quo. In February 2022, he made the decision to evolve once again by discontinuing daycare and boarding services, and focusing solely on dog training. In the past year, he has provided over 550 lessons and received great feedback for his Dynamic K9's Program. With 16 years of experience surrounded by dogs, Ian has developed a deep understanding of how they interact, communicate, and establish patterns.

IAN GRANT

OWNER & TRAINER

Ian established Vermont Dog Boarding & Behavior in 2007, initially operating from his home where he had a fenced yard and a 500 square foot basement dedicated to dogs. His aim was to provide a controlled environment where dogs could receive daycare and boarding services. As his business grew, he moved to a new location in 2013, which offered a larger space of 2,000 square feet. In 2017, he expanded further by renting an additional 1,000 square feet of space.

As Ian continues to evolve, he has had the opportunity to work for Cesar Milan at his Dog Psychology Center during his "Training Cesar's Way" workshops. This experience has allowed him to learn from one of the greats and network with like-minded trainers, and has been truly amazing for his professional growth.

Ian takes pleasure in assisting people and ultimately, he helps more people than dogs. Over time, he has encountered various interesting lessons ranging from a couple on the verge of divorce to the excitement of a family getting a new puppy and everything in between. Understanding the reason behind a dog's behavior by sitting with clients and discovering solutions is something he is passionate about.

Prior to his career in dog training, Ian spent 8 years as a professional golfer. Outside of work, he enjoys coaching baseball, basketball, playing golf, and is a devoted fan of the Boston Celtics. He shares his home with his wife, 2 kids, and three beloved dogs: Jemma, May, and Fitz.
